Five connected documents. One defensible qualification story.

Certification-proven experience

Grounded in real DER reviews, not just written to spec

Understand expertise

Material built specifically around Understand versions, configurations, and MISRA coverage.

DER-facing experience

ETI has worked through the questions that arise when qualification evidence is reviewed with a DER.

Traceable evidence

Requirements, procedures, results, and limitations are organized so reviewers can follow the record in either direction.

Built for teams already using Understand

Qualification support calibrated to your version, configuration, and intended use

Tool qualification is version-specific. These packages organize the rationale, requirements, procedures, results, and traceability needed to support qualification of Understand as a TQL-5 verification tool.

Rules Understand does not automatically detect are clearly assigned to manual review, creating a visible division of responsibility with no hidden gaps.

Choose the right level of support

Two ways to qualify Understand for DO-330

Start with proven, Understand-specific templates or have the verification executed and populated for the version you specify.

01
Template package

DO-330 Tool Qualification Package

$9,995

A defensible head start for teams with the bandwidth to execute qualification activities internally.

  • Five DO-330 templates tailored to Understand
  • MISRA coverage mapped as testable requirements
  • Bidirectional traceability structure
  • Execution guidance for your environment
  • Your team runs and records the verification

Best for teams that want a proven starting point instead of a blank page.

02
Executed package

Understand Version Qualified

$12,995

A completed artifact set with verification run, results populated, and evidence traced for the version and configuration you specify.

  • All five DO-330 documents completed and executed
  • Verification run in a controlled Windows environment
  • MISRA results populated and traced
  • Version, configuration, and toolchain identified precisely
  • Completed, DER-ready artifact set

Best for teams that want the evidence in hand before certification activity begins.

What the qualification artifacts establish

A connected record your DER can follow in either direction

Each document has a distinct role, but together they show why the qualification level applies, what Understand must do, how it was tested, and how every result traces back to a requirement.

Defined qualification basis

Scope, TQL-5 rationale, operating environment, completion criteria, and re-qualification triggers.

Testable tool requirements

MISRA detection behavior stated as requirements, including full and partial coverage. Per-standard figures are on the MISRA page.

Bidirectional traceability

Requirements map to tests, tests map back to requirements, and source files are identified.

Repeatable verification evidence

Environment setup, execution steps, pass/fail criteria, results, deviations, and reconciliation.

Optional software-process package

Add the DO-178C standards and peer reviewed checklists expected alongside qualification

Pair either qualification tier with coding standards, design standards, structured peer-review checklists, MISRA manual-review evidence, and a one-hour ETI engineer consultation.

Add-on $4,995 Pairs with either qualification tier
Important qualification scope

The package supports TQL-5 when Understand is used as a verification tool

TQL-5 assumption

Understand may fail to detect an error, but it cannot introduce an error into the software being analyzed.

Intended use matters

If Understand output replaces or reduces another verification activity, the required qualification level may be higher.

Configuration-specific

Qualification evidence is tied to the identified version, operating system, toolchain, language standard, and project configuration.

Applicant responsibility

The customer remains the applicant of record and is responsible for DER, ODA, and certification-authority acceptance.
